Pregnancy A Time Of
Change
Pregnancy is a time of big changes in every aspect.
There's the obvious belly change and weight gain. Over time, it
can get more difficult to do even daily tasks, little known
maintain a regular exercise program. Some less noticeable
changes are also taking place within your body.
Your estrogen and progesterone levels are increasing and with
all these new and unusual changes, can carry both physical and
mental challenges.
Women have a right to feel annoyed about all this, for some
women though, being pregnant is (or was) the best time of their
lives. With a lot of resources available to them and
friend and family support can be used to lighten any burdens
and help them celebrate the pregnancy.
For those who desperately want to become pregnant, but have not
yet achieved their goal, there have been many great steps in
advancement in fertility treatments. The knowledge has greatly
increased and also in dealing with those risks involved in
treatment.
Home pregnancy tests are now more reliable and convenient than
ever. Good brand name companies now have kits and testers
that are much easier to read (and harder to miss-read). Some
tests are now so sensitive, that some women should exercise
discretion in using them too early, in order to avoid false
positives.
When pregnancy is confirmed, selecting the correct physician
and hospital is a decision you will need to make soon.
With so much information available is a great deal easier if
you don’t allow yourself to get information overload.
However personal recommendation is still just as important.
Some women might choose to have a midwife, rather than a
regular physician, at least for the delivery. Trained midwifes
have the experience to assist in birth and may also have the
time to devote exclusive attention to a woman on that critical
day.
Women should maintain optimal health so the pregnancy and birth
can go as well as expected. Exercise and a healthy
nutrition plan will help during the time of these changes
within their bodies.
An expectant mother may want to plan her pregnancy
carefully. This includes the final phase - labor and
delivery. Lamaze and other training courses are worth
investigating and it is better to think about your pain control
options now rather than later. Some considerations might
include, whether to use anesthesia or have a
Caesarean.
Many other complex issues should be considered
beforehand. Matters like possible danger signs, such as
vaginal bleeding are worth being aware of. Forewarned is
forearmed, like most things, with adequate knowledge, most
incidents can be treated to minimize potentially serious
problems.
Being pregnant, sounds like a big course of study - and it is.
However, mothers (and fathers) can reap the rewards with a
little bit of planning, preparation and thought. They can then
start the next phase which is learning all about parenting,
which is a huge but rewarding change!
